By the Light of the Night

Long exposures are really hard for me. I don’t have naturally steady hands, so when it comes to low light, I normally have to brace myself against something to get a good shot. That is what makes me so proud of this image.

France, like most of Europe, has gorgeous churches in almost every town. Some are massive, like this one, and I always find inspiration when working with them. The yellow and red tint created by the night makes the church seems huge and imposing, a force of man set up to really praise God. It was a beautiful place, and it made for a wonderful image.

The deeper the grief, the closer is God!”
― Fyodor Dostoyevsky
