Sprouted Sunshine

I LOVE these guys. It is such a gorgeous and vibrant yellow that these spider orchids just scream”LOOK AT ME.” They are so pretty, I approve that message! I love the wonderful blur caused by the “soldier” like placement of the blooms, and the way it draws your eye up the image.

I can’t recommend visiting a botanical garden whether you are learning to shoot or just trying to practice. It is definitely an exercise in composition and focal length. It presents a good opportunity to experiment with different options and see an obvious difference. And, most importantly, it’s just fun.

It glistens with various yellows,
Citrons, oranges and greens
Flowering over the skin.”
