Heaven’s Light

Rome is beautiful. It is probably my favorite city that we have visited since we have come to Europe. It has a little bit of everything; it is eclectic, it is historical, it is artistic, and it is spiritual. I think that this image is one that really showcases the spiritual side of Rome.

The statue specifically is on the bridge directly across form Castel Sant’Angelo. The castle was built on the banks of the river Tiber by the Roman Emperor Hadrian. The bridge itself is called the Ponte Sant’Angelo, and was also built by Hadrian. The way the sun was rising behind the clouds cast a glow on the angel statue, and I used a antique look to bath the picture in a warm light.
