Be Prepared

I really like shooting in zoos. Just as a general statement. You get a chance to practice your skills while working with subjects you wouldn’t normally have an opportunity to work with. However, what I really liked about the zoo we visited in German was the non-obtrusive cages. It is so much easier to try and photograph an animal when you don’t have to fight between chain link or glass. It gives a feeling of a little more ethnicity.

This photo has great detail, and I think that he has a lot of personality. My husband insisted that his dark mane reminded him of Scar for The Lion King. 🙂

Camera: Canon EOS Rebel XS
