There is no city in the world that inspires more romance the Venice. It has a aire of mystery and intrigue that cannot be matched. Maybe it’s the massive, winding waterways. Maybe its the intricate masks hanging from every shop window.
I got to experience Venice with my mother this summer, and ever since then I am anxious to go back. It captured my heart and my imagination in a way that I have really only experienced in the Italian cities. This picture is of the Bridge of Sighs, a famous sight of the city that was built in the 1600s. It is said that through this bridge was the last sight of Venice convicts would ever have. It is also said that lovers will receive total bliss and love for all their days if they kiss when their gondola passes under it. I hope to see someday if the latter legend comes true. 🙂

“A realist, in Venice, would become a romantic by mere faithfulness to what he saw before him.” -Arthur Symons
